We have 3 groups that have signed up to participate in the National Audubon Society’s annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Huguenot Memorial Park. My group will start at 7:30 a.m. at the overlook area just outside the park. The naturalist for the park will start at the jetties, and Andrew Schumann will start at Ft. George Island. All three groups will meet to bird the restricted area at 9 a.m. All three groups could use additional volunteers, so email me if you want to join one of the groups. In case you want to join us later, we expect to bird most of the day. Recent sightings include Purple Sandpipers and an Ash-throated Flycatcher.
